Loosening Up and Exploring – Creativity Enhancing Coaching

We are all creative, however we often get stuck in the limbo of different limitations posed by life or even those self-inflicted barriers, which include low self-esteem. We may be actively engaging in artistic creations but often get into a theme, medium, method or type of art which provides us with a comfort zone and makes us feel safe.

The goal of this program is to loosen up, to experiment, explore and have fun playing in a territory which we wouldn’t venture onto if not nudged. As creativity needs to be fed to blossom, exploring different medium, tools, genres, provides a spark to ideas which wouldn’t otherwise emerge.

This programme is not to teach you art or how to draw/paint but to expand your creativity and horizons.

“Openness to experience – the drive for cognitive exploration of one’s inner and outer worlds – is the single strongest and most consistent personality trait that predicts creative achievement… and is absolutely essential to creativity.”

– from ‘Wired to Create’ by S.B. Kaufman & C. Gregoire

As a self-taught and reborn artist (I have not practised art for all my life, I have turned to art after a massive mental health breakdown and never looked back, treating art as my daily medicine), I believe that creativity originates from the ability to be playful and try things out. Perhaps  the reason for me being open to experimentation and ignoring artistic ‘rules’ is the main factor which allows me to fully embrace my creative spirit, as I have not been structuralised into ‘the right’ way of creating. I just play and through play discover different avenues, amazing textures and effects.

“We don’t stop playing because we grow old;

we grow old because we stop playing”

– George Bernard Shaw

This coaching programme is offered in the duration of 10 sessions delivered fortnightly to ensure room for funwork (sounds better than homework). Each session is 1hr including 15min for setting up and clearing up.
